Not for Teetotalers: The Sour Toe Cocktail

Toe sourtoe cocktail in Yukon

A quirky, queasy topic on toes that gets a quick nod:

It can seem like the wild old days in Dawson City, Yukon Territory, the epi-center of the great Klondike Gold Rush of 1898.  A far-north initiation ceremony, an induction into the order of the Sour Toe Cocktail, requires tipping a high-octane drink back to the point when the pickled appendage tickles one’s top lip.

The point is not to swallow the toe; though some have.
